“ Serviced in June 2023, and new ceramic brake pads fitted. One owner from new and has new KN Carbon Air Filter installed giving an extra 50 horsepower! So over 700 PS and a very special engine sound! ”

Cadillac struck a chord in the home market with their super saloon, now in its third generation and it has been a hidden gem ever since. Anyone who buys one still gets a level of uniqueness and exclusivity however as they are rare to see. This example has clearly been cherished since new and remains in excellent condition.

Background

Now in its third generation the CTS-V cages a 6.2L 640 bhp, supercharged V8, which is coincidently, the most powerful engine Cadillac has ever produced to date. Coined the ‘four door Corvette’ due to it sharing the same engine, the CTS-V was a huge hit with home markets, but due to wayward and lacklustre marketing campaigns and a refusal to migrate the steering wheel across the cabin they are a rarity in European countries.

Luckily Sweden’s road rules did fit the bill for Cadillac’s super saloon and this one was even sold new here in October 2016. It has had one owner, has done only 37,000 kms and has had some OEM+ style upgrades. It remains in superb condition and is ready to find its new home through us here at Bonhams Cars Online.

Overview

As mentioned, this is a one owner car with 37,000 kms, it comes with a full documented service history with the last one being just round the corner in mid-June this year.

The car has had some subtle upgrades to squeeze as much out of that powerful Corvette engine as possible in the form of a K&N Carbon air filter and a sports exhaust from OBX to really bring the noise. Reported to now have upwards of 700hp it’s the very definition of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Exterior

The Cadillac looks to have been fastidiously maintained inside and out with the exterior still looking to have a deep, swirl free finish to the paint and little to no damage, save for a few very minor, unavoidable stone chips to the rear of the side skirts.

Wheels and tyres look to be in good condition too with the Michelin Pilot Sport tyres looking to be in good condition with plenty of tread left and the wheels looking to be very clean with just the smallest curb mark on one of them as shown in the photo gallery.

Lights, trim, and glass are all in good condition too, no hazing on the lights and no reported chips in the glass. The big front grill is not missing any sections from what we can see, and it suits the front design of the car nicely. Move to the rear and the large quad exit exhausts might give the game away, certainly when the car is fired up, the OBX sports exhaust fits the OEM style nicely but adds more breathability for the monster under the bonnet.

This third generation of the CTS-V is arguably the most subtle but by far we think it is the best looking and this example is in excellent condition from the looks of it, in a great colour and having some great additions.

Interior

Whilst earlier generations of the CTS-V were criticized for their lack of quality in the cabin space, Cadillac look to have headed these concerns and pulled the stops out for this generation. Firstly, the seats, finished in a half grey leather with perforated sections and half black Alcantara, look to be in excellent condition front and back with no signs of rips, tears or excessive wear. The front seats add extra side support and suit the executive sporty/luxury style Cadillac were aiming for.

The dash in this generation looks to have been improved over the previous iterations and with a nicely trimmed dash top leading into the infotainment module, then on to the centre console, it all adds up to a fantastic wrap around cabin space.

The steering wheel is trimmed in Alcantara which is notorious for becoming flat and grubby after lots of use, this one however seems to be in nice clean condition, as does the similarly trimmed gear selector. Everything in the interior is reported to be functional.

Mechanical

Packaged beautifully inside the engine bay, the supercharged LT1 V8 engine looks as subtle as the rest of the car. Treated to regular scheduled maintenance and very low mileage since new, the mechanicals of the car are reported to be in fine working order. Add into the mix that uprated carbon K&N filter and the exhaust, the car can breathe far easier and as a happy side effect, more power is available to you.

New ceramic brake pads have been installed at the recent service in June of this year meaning you’ll be able to stop after the V8 propels to the legal limit far quicker than you’d imagine.

All work has been done at an authorised Cadillac workshop since new so you can rest assured knowing that the car has been in safe hands.

History

The history file is well kept and with it being one owner, things have not been lost during ownership transfer. There is invoices for the uprated parts, being the K&N filter and the OBX exhaust and there is also a brochure for a glass coat paint protection service, which might indicate why the paint work remains in such great condition.

Other history is routing maintenance related with service stamps at regular intervals, all from the Cadillac authorised workshop.

Summary

Cadillac struck a chord in the home market with their super saloon, now in its third generation and it has been a hidden gem ever since. Anyone who buys one still gets a level of uniqueness and exclusivity however as they are rare to see. This example has clearly been cherished since new and remains in excellent condition. We’re sure whoever this car goes to next will be extremely happy with their purchase.
