That the previous owner took the time and trouble to retrim the low-back seats in brown vinyl tells you all you need to know; while many of us have dreamed of doing something so utterly frivolous, few of us have actually bitten the bullet and written the very large cheque that is necessary to actually commission the work.
And no matter what the retrim cost, it was worth every single penny. The finished interior looks amazing and is so much more interested than simply installing more modern leather seats from a newer car.
The rest of the interior is just as perfect; hell, it’s even got a blanked off gauge in the centre console, just like it had when it rolled off the production line in the mid-seventies. Most of us would have popped an ammeter or oil pressure gauge in there to fill a gap; that the owner hasn’t speaks volumes for the care and attention to detail that has been lavished on this car.
Still not convinced? How about sourcing and fitting the early and rare flat wiper and indicator stalks? Or a chromed mono radio? Or taking the trouble to source and fit a polished handbrake lever, accelerator and brake pedal? Or a 1974 tan parcel shelf? Or matching bronzed glass?
Are you starting to get the picture? This is a very, very nicely finished vehicle.
