“ Delivery Mileage - As New ”

We know this advert contains a lot of ‘obviously’ and ‘of course’ but that’s what you want to read when you’re looking at buying a brand-new Porsche Macan, isn’t it?

As for its value, given the huge waiting times for these, we think this one will command a bit of a premium, with the virtual hammer falling somewhere between £90,000 and £100,000.

Viewing is always encouraged, and this particular car is located with the vendor in Horam, UK; to arrange an appointment please use the Contact Seller button at the top of the listing. Feel free to ask any questions or make observations in the comments section below, or try our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’.

Background

If you judge a car manufacturer’s specialism by volume, Porsche is no longer a sportscar maker.

This is because of the massive volumes its two SUVs account for, and while the Cayenne was the German firm’s best-selling model worldwide in 2022, the mighty Macan accounted for 30% of the 18,554 cars Porsche GB shifted here last year.

There’s a very good reason for that - and the reason is the Macan is simply brilliant: SUVs have always delivered practicality but Porsche showed it could deliver fun and performance, too.

Plus luxury, of course. The Macan might be touted as the firm’s “compact SUV” but the list price for the GTS you see here starts at £71,700 and cars as well equipped as this Gentian Blue Metallic example add thousands to what is already a hefty bill.

NB: The Macan, which first broke cover in 2014, was originally slated to be called the Cajun, a combination of ‘Cayenne’ and ‘Junior’. However, in proof of the old marketing adage that if you have to explain a name then you’ve failed, Porsche rechristened the production model the Macan.

Overview

Finished in Gentian Blue Metallic with the extended black GTS leather and Race-Tex interior, this top-of-the-range Porsche Macan GTS is very well specified, something we go into in much more detail in the body of the listing.

With a twin-turbo V6 petrol engine under the bonnet that feeds all four wheels via Porsche’s well respected seven-speed PDK gearbox, performance is, er, brisk: with 440PS and 550Nm of torque at its disposal, the Macan can reach 62mph in 4.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 169mph.

It’s also essentially brand new and showing only 52 delivery miles on the odometer, giving you the opportunity to dodge the waiting list.

Who says Christmas only comes once a year?

Exterior

There really isn’t much to say about the Macan’s coachwork other than it’s Gentian Blue Metallic and absolutely perfect. There are no scuffs, no dinks, and no scratches but then you’d worked that out already, hadn’t you?

The 21-inch Spyder design alloy wheels are finished in black and shod, of course, with the factory tyres, tyres that have seen only 52 miles roll beneath them. Again, they’re unblemished and every bit as good as you’d expect of a car with such a low mileage.

A short but sweet segment, so if you’re looking for a bit more heft in the description, we’ll try harder in the next section.

Interior

As a new car with only delivery miles on it, you’d expect the Macan’s interior to be perfect – and it is.

With just 52 carefully driven miles on the odometer, the interior is pristine; delivery drivers are a wild bunch as a rule, men and women prone to violence and exaggeration when they’ve been drinking (which is often…) but, to give them their due, they do tend to smarten themselves up when they’re working, standing half a stride closer to the razor than they might otherwise and even, it’s rumoured, taking more than one shower a fortnight.

Certainly, whoever’s driven this must have been one of the more respectable members of their profession because we can’t fault it. It’s clean, undamaged, and still smells new.

The combination of extended black GTS leather and Porsche’s proprietary Race-Tex fabric works brilliantly; the adaptive seats are thus trimmed and so every bit as luxurious as you’d expect while the Race-Tex material gives yet another layer of grippiness, which is important given the Macan’s dynamic nature.

They adjust 18 different ways too, and have a better memory than your ex. The steering wheel is the multi-function heated GT jobbie and it connects the driver to Power-steering Plus and Park Assist Self-Parking.

Race-Tex is used for the armrests and grab handles too, as well as the headlining.

While we’re talking of the headlining, there’s less of it than usual because most of the space is taken up by the panoramic sunroof, which offers a huge amount of light and brings illumination to what might otherwise be a dark cabin, something that’s partly a function of the trim’s colour and partly due to the factory privacy glass in the rear.

Speaking of illumination, the headlamps are the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), a nifty system that combines all the attributes of the standard PDLS system that ‘enhances near-field, lateral, and far-field illumination by adjusting the range of the dipped beam according to driving speed’ and rotates the headlamps into the bend, a useful feature that supplemented by more conventional static corner lights.

The Plus in the name adds a monitoring system that adjusts the headlamps cone of light when it detects oncoming traffic, as well adding Intersection Assistant, which ‘turns on the electronic cornering lights to adjust the broadness and length of the light cones’, increasing the ‘visibility of the vehicle’s surroundings.’

Sounds impressive, if a little incomprehensible but if you’re in the market for a Macan we’re guessing you understand Porsche-speak better than we do.

What we do understand is the Burmester® sound system, which is as easy to use as it is impressive in both volume and fidelity. With more than 1,000W including a 300W active subwoofer and 16 individually adjustable speakers, the Archers has never sounded better.

This Porsche is also equip with a long list of option equipment which the vendor has the invoice for -

• 1A – Gentian Blue Metallic

• FF – Black GTS extended leather/Race-Tex interior

• Q1J – Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18-Way, electric) with memory package

• 3FU – Panoramic roof system

• G1D – 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

• 1N3 – Power Steering Plus

• 55V – 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in satin black

• 8JU – Tinted LED main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)

• VW1 – Privacy glass

• 7X5 – Self-Steering Park Assist

• 8T3 – Adaptive cruise control

• 2PJ – Heated multifunction GT sports steering wheel

• 4X4 – Side airbags in the rear

• 6NN – Roof lining in Race-Tex

• ALE – Roof lining grab handles Race-Tex

• 9VJ – Burmester High-End Surround Sound System

Mechanical

It’s not just the sound system that delivers because the torque, all 405 lb.ft of it, makes the Macan GTS very driveable, largely because it’s a flat line from as low as 1,900 all the way through to 5,600rpm. Instant overtaking is never more than an ankle’s flex away.

How fast is it? If we lose the lily-livered advertising BS the raw figures are just 2.9 seconds to move from 49mph to 74mph. Is that enough?

There are flappy paddles should you want to take control of the gear-shifting yourself but trust us, you’re better off letting German precision engineering do the heavy lifting and concentrating on perfecting your line.

Obviously, both the underside and engine bay are still in showroom condition. Literally.

History

The recent Vehicle History Check confirms that it ain’t stolen or written off and there is a current V5 available.
