“ Fully Documented - Low Mileage - Very Good Condition ”

The Quattroporte’s timeless and elegant design is matched by its highly refined and powerful engine to deliver an engaging driving experience. The combination of precise steering, responsive brakes, and well-tuned suspension result in a luxurious and enjoyable driving dynamic. Undoubtedly this is a lot of car for the money, as we think that a prospective buyer will have to part with somewhere between £10,000 - £15,000 to take this car home.

Overview

This 2004 Maserati Quattroporte dons fine grey paintwork with a beige leather interior. It was purchased for £75,000 when new! The car has ticked up a mere 45,000 miles on the odometer, which is warranted and provable thanks to its dealer service history. The car has had six prior keepers, with the vendor taking ownership last year.

The vendor bought the car last autumn because he was unwell and wanted a new toy for himself. In his words: “I bought it on a whim to distract myself from my ill health - it drives beautifully and it looks beautiful”. The vendor is a reluctant seller and is only parting with this car for health reasons. He says: “I’ve decided that it doesn’t make sense to own this. I’ve hardly used it and a fantastic amount of money has been spent on it over the years - it still drives lovely today”. The vendor confirms that the car is HPI clear (i.e. it’s not had an accident or got any outstanding finance). In his words: “All I’ve had to do is wash it and all obvious electrics are in fine shape, including the lights, electric windows, roof and door locks”.

Exterior

The grey paintwork is tidy throughout – it’s hard to believe this motor is 19 years of age. The design blends traditional Maserati styling cues with contemporary elements. Known for its elongated body, long wheelbase and flowing lines, the roofline slopes gently towards the rear to give it a coupe-like appearance, despite being a four-door. The proportions are well-balanced and the body contours accentuate the car's sporty character. The front fascia features a bold and distinctive grille, adorned with the iconic Maserati trident logo at its centre. The grille is flanked by a pair of large and expressive headlights. The side profile is clean, featuring unbroken lines that extend from the front fenders to the rear, accented with chrome door handles and the Maserati logo on the rear side panel. The absence of excessive ornamentation contributes to its refined and timeless appearance. The rear has a wide and rounded shape with parking sensors furnishing the rear bumper. The dual twin exhaust outlets are integrated within the bumper to enhance the car’s sporty aesthetic. The alloy wheels and bodywork are tidy throughout, though there appears to be a blemish to the paintwork on the passenger wing mirror (though this could well be muck).

Interior

Inside, the cabin is a luxurious suite of beige leather, wood veneer and black trim accents. With a middle seat belt, the spacious interior will comfortably seat five. The wooden centre console features an analogue clock, sat nav and a CD player along with the usual controls. The veneer on the door cards and above the glove box looks tidy, though there appears to be some mild delamination to the veneer on the centre console by the air vents on the driver’s side. The car comes with a Bose sound system and plush, electric, leather memory seats. The multi-function steering wheel looks slightly tired but the door sills and upholstery are in good condition throughout. Under the boot floor, there is the instruction manual and Maserati accessories which add a nice touch and show that this car has been well looked after. The car comes with cruise control and there is a built in telephone in the arm rest between the front seats, which is a nice added extra.

Mechanical

The Quattroporte is powered by a naturally aspirated, Ferrari-derived 4.2-liter V8 engine. This engine produces around 395 bhp and has an automatic transmission. With a rear driving axel, the Quattroporte boasts impressive performance figures, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 5.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of approximately 170 mph (270 km/h). Though under the hood could do with a bit of a clean, everything inside the engine bay looks tidy; there is no evidence of leakage and everything looks to be in its right and proper place.

History

The car was manufactured in September 2004. It comes with the logbook which shows the car has a comprehensive Maserati service history. It comes with a full MoT record between 2007 and 2022, with the only exception being in 2008. The car has an active MoT which expires in October. As previously mentioned, the car has had six prior keepers. From rough calculations - looking at the invoices - it seems as if the best part of £12,000 has been spent on this motor over the years. Back in 2017 the car had its clutch assembly reworked along with the clutch position sensor and release bearing, which cost more than £2,800. Again, in 2022 a new clutch, flywheel, spigot bearing and anti-rollbar bushes were installed at a cost of over £1500.

Summary

The Quattroporte’s timeless and elegant design is matched by its highly refined and powerful engine to deliver an engaging driving experience. The combination of precise steering, responsive brakes, and well-tuned suspension result in a luxurious and enjoyable driving dynamic. Undoubtedly this is a lot of car for the money, as we think that a prospective buyer will have to part with somewhere between £10,000 - £15,000 to take this car home.
