Overview

The XK line goes right back to 1948 with the XK120 and this is one of the last naturally aspirated Jaguar XKs ever made. Signature cars were the final run of 1000 coupes and convertible of the XK line. They have every extra as standard and according to the vendor: “There are fewer than 400 on UK roads”.

This luxury focused XK Signature model - with a 385PS 5.0-litre V8 engine - is fitted with a host of additional features, including standard 20" Kalimnos wheels and reverse park camera. Other optional extras include: the colour touch screen information system with satellite navigation, electric front seating with memory, cruise control, black leather bound multi-functional steering wheel with paddle shift and heated function, xenon headlights with power wash, variable heated seats with cooling function, key-less entry, Jaguar steel pedal set, electric steering wheel adjust, electric folding mirrors, Bluetooth phone preparation, remote central locking with alarm, and so much more.

The vendor purchased this car after looking for an XK signature coupe for some time. He eventually found this one-owner-from new XK for sale at Jaguar Hull main dealer, and it came with a full Jaguar service history at Jaguar Hull. The previous owner cherished the car and only did 29500 miles in his ownership. He explains: “It had to be in Navy. It looks so good in Navy. I had had an XK convertible in 2012 and missed it when I sold it 6 years later. It was my daily driver”.

The vendor has only done 400 miles since he bought it. As such, there will unlikely be a better one in terms of condition and presentation, with such a low mileage, as this motor has just under 30k miles on the clock. In the vendor’s words: “I think that this is one of the best looking cars on the road and a certain future classic. Needless to say, it drives superbly. I’m only selling it as I don’t use it enough to warrant renting an underground parking space”.

Exterior

This navy blue XK has a low-slung profile, muscular curves, and an elongated bonnet. It’s clear to see this car has been well looked after as there are no obvious dents or dinks throughout. The front end is characterised by the distinctive chrome mesh front grille decorated with the red Jaguar badge, and chrome-finished air intakes. The side view showcases its aerodynamic lines and fender vents, adding to its sporty appeal. The coupe's roofline slopes gracefully towards the rear and at the back you'll find a large sloping rear screen, a bar break light and twinned oval exhaust tips, completing the timeless look of this luxury coupe. Also from factory, the car sits on unmarked silver finished 20" Kalimnos multi-spoke alloys.

Interior

The ivory leather upholstery exudes luxury and refinement, complemented with twin needle Ivory stitch detail and flint grey carpets. The black leather dash wraps around this inviting cabin, and the black and ivory leather trimmed door cards are in fine order. The fabric roof lining looks tidy and the cabin is beautifully decorated with a mixture of piano black with walnut inlays. This XK comes with an array of high-end Jaguar options, meaning that every journey is composed, no matter the distance. The centre console houses a touchscreen display, offering navigation, DAB digital radio, iPod connection and the reverse park camera display.

Additionally, the rear seats, while accommodating, might be better suited for shorter journeys or additional luggage space, as the coupe's focus is on performance. Overall, the interior offers a blend of modern technology, plush comfort, and a touch of classic elegance, creating an inviting and enjoyable driving environment.

Mechanical

Jaguar has a reputation for blending athletic high-performance with effortless cruising comfort. Nothing exemplifies this dual character more clearly than the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine fitted to this XK special edition. In its third generation, this engine offers not only tremendous power but also great efficiency by including spray-guided direct injection (SGDI) and dual independent variable cam timing (DIVCT). Like the car itself, the engine is constructed from high-grade, lightweight aluminum, which in the cylinder heads is recycled to reduce the environmental impact of manufacture. Everything under the bonnet looks clean and dry, and everything looks to be in its right and proper place.

The XK Signature can reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, producing a meaty 515Nm of torque. The top speed is electronically limited to 155mph and it produces just 264 g/km of CO2. The Signature model is fitted with a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddles, which control the Jaguar Sequential Shift function for greater driver control. The XK Signature model uses a mechanical differential, which delivers outstanding levels of grip and stability under power. The Dynamic Stability Control system offers four modes: Normal, Winter, TracDSC and DSC Off, allowing the enthusiastic driver to choose the level of intervention dependent on road conditions. The double wishbone front suspension features a fully-machined steering knuckle which significantly increases camber and castor stiffness to transform the accuracy and weighting of the steering for greater levels of connection, feedback and precision. Rear suspension geometry benefits from rear wheel steer - optimised for maximum agility.

History

The car has full main dealer service history from Hatfields Jaguar, Hull. The V5c shows that this motor has had just one prior keeper. This car was first registered on 2nd June 2014 and it is being sold with a pre and post-sale pack, along with two car keys. It comes with an MoT history, dating back to 2017 and a valid MoT which runs through to December this year.

Summary

The Jaguar XK is the epitome of Jaguar at its best. It's a luxurious and comfortable sports car with great performance, a high-quality interior and superb refinement throughout. This is a real 'feelgood' car that is always a real pleasure to drive. It's a great grand tourer with impressive long-distance comfort, as it manages to blend comfort and performance together into a very desirable model. This car is in lovely order, has full main dealer service history and we think you’ll be hard pressed to find a nicer example. Price is available upon request.
