Background
The Jaguar XF, internal codename X250, continued the Coventry firm’s tradition of engineering beautiful cars that drive and ride extraordinarily well.
Launched in 2007 as a replacement for the somewhat awkward S-Type, it stayed in production for the next eight years.
It was offered as an ‘Sportbrake’ estate as well as a saloon, as well as a range of V6 and V8 petrol engines at launch. Diesel engines came later, and all were automatics in line with the car’s design brief of luxurious, effortless travel, something that might also account for the fact that no fewer than eight different trim levels were offered here.
The car you see here potentially offers 271bhp, enough for a top speed of 155mph after passing 62 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds - and its build year of 2010 coincided with the Jaguar XF winning the What Car? Best Executive Car award for the third consecutive year.
