“ A stunning example, with full Jaguar service history. ”

Background

Like all the greats, the Jaguar F-Type started its life as a concept car, specifically the C-X16 that was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011.

The production version arrived a year later and, unusually, it looked remarkably similar to the car that had wowed press and public alike just 12 months earlier.

The first bodystyle was the achingly gorgeous convertible and engines at launch were a brace of supercharged V6 petrols that offered a choice of two power outputs: the base model with 335bhp and a 0-60mph time of just 5.3 seconds (with the automatic gearbox), or a more powerful 375bhp version that slashed that to a withering 4.9 seconds.

Not that Jaguar was finished because the Coupé, which arrived in 2013, ushered in even greater performance with the option of the F-Type R which took barely four seconds to reach 60mph on its way to a top speed of 186mph.

Later models brought with them all-wheel-drive and an SVR version, with the latter capable of touching 200mph after streaking past 60mph in 3.5 seconds.

Overview

Finished in Caldera Red with the panoramic sunroof and a black leather ‘n’ Alcantara interior, ‘KN67 JKZ’ is a 2017 Jaguar F-Type R-Dynamic that comes with a full dealer service history, just 17,800 miles on the odometer, and only one former registered keeper.

The 335bhp engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox mean going very fast while making all the right noises has never been easier, something the seller’s appreciated since he bought it in August 2023.

Used for high days and holidays, he tells us he finds it a much more usable sportscar than either his previous Aston Martin Vantage or the V8-powered F-Type he owned before this one.

That’s quite the recommendation, isn’t it?

Exterior

Our man crawled over the coachwork with his magnifying glass, scratched his head, and said: “Yup, looks exactly like you’d expect a car with 17,000 miles on the clock to look” before returning to scouring Car Nerd Weekly for typos to complain about.

We’d add there are no dents, dinks, ripples, or other flaws to the alloy panels either, and a deep, lustrous gloss to the Caldera Red paintwork (paint code 1BD). Even more impressive is the fact the deep front spoiler is free of scuffs and damage, which takes some doing these days.

And, speaking of miraculous feats, the 20-inch alloy wheels are completely free of scuffs, scratches, and scrapes, something the black finish highlights to good effect.

They’re also fitted with matching Pirelli P-Zero tyres, with 255/35ZR20 on the front and huge 295/30ZR20 on the rear.

We will never get tired of telling you that experience shows that matching high-quality tyres are an infallible sign of a caring and mechanically sympathetic owner who is prepared to spend the appropriate amount in maintaining their car properly.

The black trim works in conjunction with the Caldera Red coachwork and black wheels to give the car a purposeful and sporting look that would be missing if it were finished in something more sombre; it’s probably not one for the shrinking violets among you but given the sort of snap, crackle, and pop the exhaust delivers, the F-Type is an extrovert’s car anyway.

The lamp lenses are free of cracks and flaws, the glazing is free of stonechips and scratches, and the badges are bright and shiny.

The panoramic roof is in a perfect condition too, and despite the smoked glass construction, it still floods the cabin with light.

There is also a fixed wing spoiler and other nice touches include the pop-out door handles that feature the Jaguar name, the beautifully finished exhaust tailpipes (see photo #12/75 in the ‘Exterior’ section for details…), and the sticker in the windscreen that proclaims membership of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, something that’s always nice to see.

Interior

Our man described the interior as being “excellent”, and we’d extend that description to the design too because Jaguar really was at the very top of its game when it built the F-Type.

Cosy, sporty, comfortable, and supremely practical, an F-Type’s cabin is a lovely place to be whether it’s for a quick run around your favourite lanes or an 12-hour slog through France.

Tip-toe along at low revs and you’ll be able to listen to The Archers in near silence – but turn it up and you could almost be in a full-blown racing car.

Finished in black leather and grey Alcantara, what might have been a bit of a gloomy space is livened up by that panoramic sunroof and red seatbelts.

The seats, which are heated and electrically adjustable, balance comfort and support very well indeed. Their condition is just about flawless too, with barely a hint of light creasing to show they’ve ever been sat on.

The quality of construction is evident with beautifully stitched leather throughout, and brushed metal accents that add a dash of colour without coming within shouting distance of gaudy.

The three-spoke, multifunction steering wheel has a pair of flappy paddles behind it so you can take control of the eight-speed automatic gearbox, useful when you’re in the mood for fun and have selected Dynamic mode and the loud exhaust.

The headlining is excellent, and the roller blind slides fore and aft as it should, with Jaguar claiming it cuts 99% of light when closed.

At 408 litres the boot is a very good size, and it is as beautifully trimmed as the rest of the cabin. It’s also still got the hazard warning triangle strapped in place plus an umbrella and a set of official Jaguar luggage in addition to a car cover.

The InControl infotainment system, which plays through Meridian speakers, includes a rear-view camera and it, like everything else we tested, works exactly as it should.

Mechanical

The F-Type’s service history is recorded as follows:

· 01.11.2024 and 15,797 miles – service by Marshall Land Rover

· 30.08.2023 and 13,758 miles – service by Beadles Land Rover including fresh brake fluid and new sparkplugs

· 07.09.2021 and 9,682 miles – service by Guy Salmon Land Rover

· 01.09.2020 and 7,905 miles – service by Guy Salmon Land Rover

· 03.09.2019 and 5,278 miles – service by Guy Salmon Land Rover

· 03.10.2018 and 2,322 miles – service by Guy Salmon Land Rover

· 31.03.2017 and 1 mile – pre-delivery inspection by Guy Salmon Land Rover

The battery was also replaced in March 2025.

You won’t be surprised to hear that our man came back from his test drive and simply said: “Yup, drives exactly as you’d expect” before breaking out his green pen to edit Pedants’ Monthly.

You might not think that a six-word assessment is worth much but trust us; if there was any more to say then he’d have said it – at length.

As the video shows, it starts, idles, and revs every bit as well as you’d hope – and it makes all the right noises at all the right times: One of the many joys of owning an F-Type is you can play it like a musical instrument, using the throttle and switchable exhaust to span the range from piano to forte.

There are no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard either, not that we’d expect any given the quality of the F-Type’s curation.

The engine bay is a bit dusty, but that that is the worst we can say of it speaks volumes as to how good it is; the paintwork is bright and clean, the fasteners are free of the veneer of rust, and the plastic shrouds appears to be free of cracks and damage.

It’s much the same underneath; there are smears of road dirt and the usual light surface corrosion to the steel suspension components but that’s about all there is to mention because even the vulnerable front splitter and plastic undertray are free of serious scuffs and scrapes.

History

The Jaguar’s MoT, which is valid until June 2026, was issued without any advisories, a feat it’s performed for the past four years.

The recent Vehicle History Check is clear, and it comes with two key fobs.

The history file comprises the Jaguar wallet and book pack, invoices, and a copy of the health check the seller had carried out in August 2025.

Summary

The Jaguar F-Type is that rare thing, a sportscar you can use for the school run or weekly shop without a second thought, while still being your weapon of choice for an Alpine driving holiday.

Reliable and hugely potent, the fact this one is likely to sell for between £25,000 and £30,000 proves there is rarely a direct correlation between competence and price.

The value it represents, on the other hand, is surely undeniable.
