Background
Originally designed to transport British military officers around any given military base, the Super Snipe was a lightweight British compact car produced by Humber from 1938 to 1967. The Super Snipe was regularly updated, receiving roughly 8 refreshes over the course of its production run. In October of 1958, a new 5th generation Humber Super Snipe debuted at the Paris Auto Salon. Confusingly referred to as the Humber Super Snipe Series I, this new Super Snipe was based on the unitized chassis and body of the Humber Hawk but came equipped with a new 2.6L OHV straight-six engine designed by Armstrong Siddeley.
