Background

The Honda Zook made its debut in 1989, and was released for sale in Japan 1990. Designed as a city bike, the aim by Honda was to sell 40,000 Zooks to young people as a trendy new model for urban transport. They called it “Fun to Ride” and “Fun to Look At”. A two-stroke 49cc engine producing 3 bhp and weighing in at just 43kg made the bike perfect for city life.

Overview

This Honda Zook is in excellent, original condition and comes complete with the rare Honda Zook accessories such as the seat cover, front storage bag, rear storage bag and rubber mats.

Exterior

Finished in green, the quirky little Zook is in excellent order, there are no obvious scratches to the main body.

The headlights and indicators are in good order, both to the front and rear, and the mirrors are in good condition. The speedometer is shown in kilometers and it is claimed the Zook will reach a top speed of 33mph. The light switches and indicator switches are working as they should.

Interior

With the Honda only having had light use, the rubber grips are in good condition with minimal wear, and to the sides are the optional zook rubber foot mats which again have very little wear. The seat is adjustable and is complete with the seat cover.

Mechanical

The 49cc, two-stroke starts up nicely, and is reported to ride as well as it should. The wheels are 8” which are in good condition. These are fitted with the Zook footprint tyres that still have plenty of tread remaining.

History

From the tyres, foot mats and handlebar grips, you can tell with such little wear that the quirky little Zook hasn't been given much use since it’s launch in 1990. It is in excellent condition, perfect for any Honda collector.

Summary

Produced for just over one year surely makes this quirky little Honda Zook something of a collectible? To find one in such good condition with all the little Zook extras makes it even more of a sought after scooter.

The Zook is ready and waiting, could you be the one to reinstate the 90’s city bike?

We estimate that this Honda city scooter will bring in the region of €2,500 - €5,000.

BORING, but IMPORTANT: Please note that whilst we at The Market always aim to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available, we cannot claim they are perfect analyses of any of the vehicles for sale. We offer far greater opportunity for bidders to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding than traditional auctions, and we never stop encouraging bidders to take advantage of this. We do take a good look at the vehicles delivered to our premises for sale, but this only results in our unbiased personal observations, not those of a qualified inspector or other professional, or the result of a long test drive.

Also, localised paint repairs are common with collectable and classic cars and if they have been professionally carried out then they may be impossible to detect, even if we see the car in person. So, unless we state otherwise, please assume that any vehicle could have had remedial bodywork at some point in its life.

Additionally, please note that most of the videos on our site have been recorded using simple cameras which often result in 'average' sound quality; in particular, engines and exhausts notes can sound a little different to how they are in reality.

Please note that this is sold as seen and that, as is normal for used goods bought at auction, return policy does not apply. See our FAQs for more info, and feel free to inspect any vehicle as much as you wish.
