This SRT Viper is very special. GTC ACR Extreme Aero might be quite a mouthful, but both packages together on one car make this Viper highly desirable. The GTC program was announced in 2015 and ran until the end of production in 2017. It was a customization program that offered 8,000 colors, 24,000 hand painted stripes, 10 wheel choices, 16 interior trims, 6 aero options, and an undisclosed number of standalone options to choose from.
The program was marketed as having a total of 25 million possible build combinations. Furthermore, once the buyer locked in their final selection of colors and options, the car becomes a one-of-one Viper for that year and no other buyer would be permitted to build a Viper of the same specifications.
The ACR Extreme Aero package is equally special for completely different reasons. The GTC package primarily affects the styling, whereas the ACR Extreme Aero package dramatically increases performance.
The package itself doesn’t upgrade the power output, clocking in at 640hp, but the real difference comes with the downforce. The package includes a removable front splitter extension, an adjustable dual-element rear wing, 4 dive planes, 6 removable diffuser strakes, removable brake ducts, and removable hood louvres.
In all their carbon fiber glory, these parts all come together to generate 2,000lbs of downforce while cornering. Furthermore, downforce generated at top speed is 1,763lbs, the most of any production car. The suspension system was done by Bilstein and has 10 different settings for rebound and compression tuning for the dampers.
The ACR Extreme Aero Package was used in order to help the Viper break a total of 14 different track records.
