This vehicle has been on static display for a number of years and the documented history available is limited to that displayed in our photography section.

We have not tried to start or drive the car, and cannot vouch for its mechanical viability or functionality. It will require recommissioning prior to road use and is sold ‘as seen’. Registering the car will be for the winning bidder to do.

As CARS Europe BV is the guarantor of all customs duties and taxes for vehicles within Dutch customs bond, the car cannot be released to the buyer or transporter immediately after the sale. For all enquiries relating to Customs, please contact CARS Europe BV (contact details below)

Built in 1957, this LHD auto Daimler Conquest Century was bought for the vendor’s collection of static display cars in 2008.

Prior to that, we know that the car was in France.

In common with many vehicles from the vendor’s collection, the car comes with no history or service records.

We haven’t tried to drive this car and can therefore only comment on its cosmetic status.

The car currently needs some work, both inside and out, but we think has enough underlying quality to still be of considerable interest to an enthusiast looking to add a rare and distinguished Daimler model to his or her collection.

Odometer: 79,311 km.

Chassis Number: 91409.

Exterior

In general, this rather stately car looks pretty good from most angles.

However, the closer you get the more issues you can see in various places.

There are some dents, scuffs and bubbling on both the door and bodywork sections of the driver’s side rear wheel arch.

The rear wheel arch on the other side is also scuffed.

Some bubbling is visible at the bottom of the ‘B’ pillar on the driver’s side and at the bottom of the front door on the passenger’s side.

There is a small dent below the handle on the same door and a number of stone chips around the headlamps and front grille.

The wheels, chrome, lights and badging all seem to be in reasonable condition.

Interior

The interior looks wholly original and authentic to us.

The brown leather upholstery is certainly showing its age, particularly in the front, where both seats are ripped and torn.

The rear seats have fared rather better, although the bench seat needs to be re-attached to its base.

The door cards are intact and serviceable, except for the lower, carpeted sections, which are threadbare and moth-eaten. The same condition is to be found in the rest of the car’s cars carpets.

The headlining is OK, if in need of a thorough clean.

The lacquer on the wood veneers on the dashboard and door cappings is crazed in most places and missing altogether in others.

We can’t make any claims about the functionality of switches, knobs, levers, toggles, buttons, dials or other electrics as we haven’t tried to start or drive the vehicle.

The boot seems to be in good order and contains a spare wheel and some tools.

Mechanical

Everything in the engine bay is clean, dry and seems to be in its right and proper place.

The undersides of the car appear to be in reasonable condition.

History

This car doesn’t come with any history or service records.

It must be registered in the country of your choice and you will need to contact the appropriate vehicle licensing agency for instructions on how to do this.

Any paperwork shown in the gallery is a facsimile and in no way constitutes any kind of licensing or registration certification.

Summary

We think the car’s underlying quality is probably sufficient to justify the time and effort required to restore it to its former glory.

Provided, of course, that the car’s engine, mechanicals and structural integrity are of commensurate quality.

We’re confident to offer this car for auction with an estimate of €3,000 - €5,000.
