Background
The first new Bentley to be introduced following WW2, 1946’s Mark VI was also the first all-steel car to be made by Bentley or then-parent Rolls-Royce.
To help keep tradition alive while also meeting the needs of Bentley’s most demanding and resourceful clientele, a reduced number of coachbuilt bodies were assembled atop special factory supplied chassis, though the vast majority of the 5,200+ Mark VI’s built over its seven year run were “standard steel sports saloons” such as the auction car.
