Background

The Mk1 Audi TT is celebrated for its iconic, Bauhaus-inspired design, which made a bold statement in the automotive world when it was first unveiled in the late 1990s. Its distinctive and timeless silhouette, characterized by its rounded edges, short overhangs, and signature round wheel arches, pays homage to Audi's heritage while simultaneously embracing a futuristic aesthetic. This design was so influential that it earned the TT the prestigious "Concept Car of the Year" award at the Geneva International Motor Show in 1995, well before it reached production. With the TT model now at 25 years old and no longer in production, the early models like this are set to become more desirable and sought after with good examples like this becoming increasingly hard to find.

Overview

We are proud to present an exceptional opportunity to acquire a piece of automotive history, we have on offer a meticulously maintained 2004 Mk1 Audi TT 225 Quattro Coupe, a vehicle renowned for its distinctive design and remarkable performance. With 107,900 miles on the odometer, this MK1 Audi TT has been cherished over the years and boasts a strong history of maintenance and clean MOTs. The mileage is such that this exemplary condition TT can be driven and enjoyed without the worry that comes in purchasing a lower mileage car.

Exterior

This striking example of the marque is a facelift model with a simpler grille, silver headlights and updated in car audio. The exterior is presented in fantastic condition in the iconic Audi Reflex Silver metallic paint work that has the expected marks from nearly 20 years of use, but overall is outstanding for the mileage. Points of note are subtle dents on both rear wheel arches and minor scuffs on the front driver's side wheel. It comes on the desirable 18” 9 spoke wheels inspired by the RS4 Avant of the time, giving it a good stance.

Interior

With an emphasis on maintaining its excellent condition, this Mk1 Audi TT remains unmodified both inside and out. The well-kept interior showcases Audi's commitment to combining sportiness with luxury, featuring high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship. This example features the half leather – alcantara trim which is popular amongst owners for its warmer and gripping feel in the seat compared to the more common leather. The interior overall is in great condition with minimal signs of wear and feels very well looked after. It even features the rare OEM cup holder, which are sought after in the TT market.

Mechanical

The car has undergone meticulous care and maintenance over the past two years the current owner has had it, reflecting the model's reputation for excellence. The owner has spared no expense in ensuring that the vehicle continues to perform flawlessly. Routine maintenance and consumable part replacements have been carried out with the exclusive use of OEM-spec parts and fluids, maintaining the vehicle's authenticity and performance integrity. The car has just had significant work done to the notoriously fiddly boost pipes and a replacement thermostat.

History

Recent servicing highlights include a new clutch, battery (March 22), and cam belt replacement (November 22), all critical components that have been thoughtfully replaced to ensure the car's longevity and reliability. Fresh brake fluid and a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres in September 2022 have also been fitted, enhancing the TT's handling and safety.

This Mk1 Audi TT comes with a tailored outdoor cover to protect it from the elements plus two original keys and is fully smoke and pet free.

Currently, there are 11 months remaining on the MOT, and since February, the vehicle has only covered a mere 3,000 miles, a testament to its careful and limited use as part of a small collection of classic and modern sports cars the owner has. In terms of ownership, this Audi TT has had 5 owners and is looking forward to moving to the next.

Summary

As a unique and timeless automotive icon, this 2004 Mk1 Audi TT 225 Quattro Coupe is not just a car; it's a piece of automotive history that embodies Audi's commitment to design and performance excellence. In summary, this car presents a rare opportunity to own a meticulously cared-for example of one of the most distinctive and influential sports cars of its era, and would sit happily in a wider collection and/or to be enjoyed regularly in any weather conditions thanks to its Quattro all-wheel-drive.

We estimate that this TT will sell for £4,000-£6,000, and is offered here at no reserve, so will be on sale from the very first bid.
