Background

Unveiled to an adoring audience in 2005, the first-generation Aston Martin V8 Vantage coupé represented the first time the ‘Vantage’ badging had been used as a standalone model name, rather than a word denoting a high-performance variant of an existing model.

Continuing the tradition of hand-built GT cars, the V8 Vantage was marketed as the ‘base’ model in the Aston Martin range. The term ‘base’ is, of course, worlds away from what most manufacturers would consider an ‘entry level’ model, meaning in this instance that the focus was simply on being the smallest, most agile model in the range, rather than the most basic or sparsely-equipped.

On 25 January 2011, Aston Martin unveiled the V8 Vantage S, a more potent version of the V8 Vantage available either as a coupé or roadster and designed to be even sportier than the standard V8 Vantage. The engine was the same 4.7-litre V8, modified to deliver more power and torque, better acceleration and a top speed of 304 km/h. Suspension was stiffened and the steering rack quickened for the S model.

The Vantage S came with a 7-speed automated manual gearbox.

Overview

This car is offered from outside of the European Union. It has been imported under temporary admission customs bond and is therefore subject to Dutch import tax (9%) on top of the winning bid price. Cars less than 30 years old will pay 10% Dutch import tax plus 21% VAT on the hammer. If exporting immediately to another country, then tax/duty will only be paid in that country.

The winning bidder will pay €500 customs charge on top of the ‘hammer’ price.

The winning bidder will receive a receipt for the final hammer value, as their proof of purchase.

This vehicle has been on static display in the Middle East for a number of years and the only history or paperwork available is displayed in the photo gallery. In all cases the papers shown are photocopies unless otherwise stated. We do not have the original paperwork.

Unless otherwise stated, we have not tried to start or drive the car and cannot vouch for its mechanical viability or functionality. The car is not registered anywhere.

It will require recommissioning prior to road use and is sold ‘as seen’.

As CARS Europe BV is the guarantor of all customs duties and taxes for vehicles within Dutch customs bond, the car cannot be released until full payment received.

All storage charges (€30 + local VAT per day commencing from the sixth day following the auction end) must be paid in full prior to the vehicle’s collection or onward transportation. Collection and viewings are strictly by appointment only.

Please send an email to the storage centre to ensure vehicle(s) are ready at time of collection. Photographic ID will be required at time of collection. If a third party is collecting for you, then written authorisation is required in advance from you and photographic ID of the third party is required at the time of collection.

CARS Europe BV will contact you after the balance payment is received to confirm onward transport requirements. For enquiries about import tax and shipping contact Madam Joanna Herlihy, +31 (0) 252 682 526, +44 7483 433912, joanna@carseurope.net.

VIN: SCFEKBDL3DGC17110.

This LHD semi-auto 2013 Aston Martin Vantage S has just 80 kms on the odometer and is, to all intents and purposes, a brand-new car that just happens to be nearly 10 years old.

The car starts and runs but, as we haven’t driven it more than a few metres, we can only assess it on its cosmetic condition.

It was bought new for the vendor’s collection of static display vehicles in 2014.

In common with many vehicles from the vendor’s collection, the car comes with no history or service records, but it does have 3 sets of keys including the all-important ‘crystal’ key.

Exterior

The bodywork is very good and is free of any dinks, dents, creases or folds of any real significance.

So, too, is the glossy black paintwork, which contains a metallic red flake that really catches the sunlight and brings the car’s fabulous aesthetics to life.

The wheels, lights and badging (which includes what we think is dealership badging, are all good.

So too are the various carbon-fibre elements of the bodywork.

There are a couple of scratches on the passenger side sill and on the front valance.

There’s also a small paint chip on the passenger door.

That’s it.

Beyond those very minor issues it looks like what it is – a car that’s barely made any kind of impression on its first tank of petrol.

Interior

The interior is every bit as untroubled by use and the passage of time as its exterior counterpart.

The cream leather upholstery is in first-class condition and has no creasing or other signs of wear to show for its decade of inactivity.

The door cards are fine, as is the headlining, the carpets, the mats and all interior fixtures and fittings.

The boot is in the same exemplary condition.

We can’t make any claims about the full functionality of switches, knobs, levers, toggles, buttons, dials or other electrics as we haven’t run the car for more than a minute or so.

Mechanical

The clean, dry engine and engine bay look fine and the undersides of the car appear to have plenty of structural integrity – as you would expect of a car that’s only been outside for about an hour in its life.

History

This car comes with no history or service records.

It must be registered in the country of your choice and you will need to contact the appropriate vehicle licensing agency for instructions on how to do this.

No documents shown in the gallery in any way constitute any kind of licensing or registration certification unless otherwise stated.

Summary

Ignore the date of manufacture and you’d be entirely forgiven for thinking that this car was built last week.

Provided, of course, that the engine, electrics and mechanicals are amenable to recommissioning and as good as the rest of it, this is about as close as you can get to a showroom-fresh Aston Martin V8 Vantage S without paying new car prices.

We’re confident to offer this car for auction with an estimate of €40,000 - €60,000.

Viewing is always encouraged, and this particular car is located in a bonded warehouse in Amsterdam. To arrange an appointment please use the Contact Seller button at the top of the listing.
