2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante

This stunning 2007 Aston Martin Volante forms part of a small collection and has been with the vendor since 2017. A true car enthusiast through and through, the Aston was one of the cars he wanted to tick off his list of cars to own.

The low mileage example comes with an excellent history and has been maintained regardless of cost, as seen in the history file. It has clearly been a cherished vehicle by the current vendor and also previous keepers.

Finished in Slate Blue, this is a great colour which seems to switch between blue and grey depending on where the sun lands on it, and this adds to the colour to make it that bit more special.

Starting at the front of the Aston Martin, as you will see, stone chips are minimal thanks to the low mileage. The grille wears the Aston Martin Owners Club badge (the vendor may remove this prior to the sale). The grille aligns as it should with the bonnet and headlights, which are also incidentally free from any chips or damage. The bonnet aligns correctly, with an equal gap running down each wing rail.

Around to the smooth-flowing flanks, the Volante’s styling is a work of art and looks fantastic from any angle. Panel gaps are as expected, and there are no dings or dents to mention. The roof is finished in Atlantic Blue fabric which compliments the paintwork to a tee. This is in excellent condition, with just a few minor creases in the material on the corners by the rear window, as you often see on a cabriolet roof. The roof operation is smooth, going up and down through the whole cycle.

At the rear, again, everything is as good as you would imagine; there are no scuffs to the bumper thanks to the parking sensors doing their job. The badges are in good condition with no tarnishing, and the exhaust tailpipes are clean.

Fitted with optional 19” 15 spoke alloy wheels, these are in excellent order with no apparent signs of any damage or corrosion to the diamond cut faces. The tyres are different makes to the front and rear but do have a good amount of tread remaining.

Leather, aluminium and walnut veneer, you have it all in the Aston. The seats are finished in Caspian Blue leather with a perforated leather centre section, again to compliment the exterior. The leather shows no sign of heavy wear, just what you would expect to see on a 30,000 mile car and certainly not a 15 year old one. These work as they should, and both have memory settings for your comfort, should there be a couple of drivers. The rear seat is in good order and doesn’t appear to have had a great deal of use. A wind deflector is also included, which fits over the rear seats and makes a huge difference when the roof is down.

The dashboard is trimmed in the same leather and highlighted with aluminium and walnut veneer trim around the air vents and switchgear. Sitting behind the wheel, you can use the paddle shifters should the urge to partake in some spirited driving arise. The wheel is in excellent condition, again, with no signs of heavy wear. The instruments are reported to be working correctly, and there are no faults with the engine running. The odometer shows a reading of 36,081 miles which corresponds with the MoT and service history. Towards the centre, the buttons are all in good condition and working as they should, with easily legible lettering and no visible wear.

The carpets in the cabin and the boot area are clean and free from any damage. The original warning triangle is present alongside the original Aston Martin umbrella.

At the heart of the Volante is the fantastic 6.0 litre V12, which produces 450Bhp and 420lb-ft of torque. This, coupled with the six-speed automatic ZF Touchtronic gearbox, can propel the DB9 from 0-62mph in sub-five seconds.

Inside the engine bay is well presented with a nice clean V12, and everything looks in good order with no signs of any leaks.

The DB9 starts up nicely without hesitation and comes to a smooth idle. Out on the road, the car is reported to pull strongly through the gears, which can be changed via the paddle shifters, or sit back and relax whilst the auto gearbox does all of the work.

Looking at the underside of the vehicle, this is nice and clean with no areas for concern which we could see.

We do need to mention that the cherished registration number 50 PEH will be removed from the vehicle before the sale ends.

The all-important service book is present with several service stamps from either Aston Martin main dealers or Aston specialists.

The most recent work on the DB9 was carried out in May 21, when it had all 12 spark plugs and coil packs replaced following a misfire on number nine cylinder. This is quite a typical job to carry out on the V12, and it is great peace of mind to know that the £1,933 job has been completed. There is a valid MoT on the DB9, which is valid until the 11th August 2023. The car was last Serviced 700 miles ago with an 11.5 hour detailing carried out in April 2022.

It’s British, it’s hand-built, it comes with a 6.0 litre V12 engine, and it looks absolutely stunning; the DB9 Volante is undoubtedly up there with some of the best supercars produced.

This example has just over 36,000 miles covered with an excellent history and has been enthusiast owned. What more could you ask for if you are looking for a 2+2 with supercar performance?
